AbstractDebates about the transition from socialist planned economies to market-based systems have traditionally focused on privatization of state-owned enterprises, liberalization of markets, and macroeconomic stabilization. Yet the historical experience of post-socialist transformation suggests that such approaches are insufficient to produce sustained endogenous growth.
